Good art can reveal spiritual truths in such a unique way that words are often unnecessary. Just think about what's going on between these two pictures............
What Jesus did on the cross is a wonderful exchange!! He is able to take the ashes of our life (sin) and then trasform us into something beautiful (new creation)!! Is God good or what? Think about it: what used to be seen as an instrument of unspeakable torture is now seen by believers as a means of Hope and Life!! God is still wooing people to the cross by his incredible demonstration of Love. A love we are still talking about 2000 years later and a love that continues to transform people. Which leads me to the next pic....
Autumn is the girl pictured in the middle. She shared this past Wednesday night how she came to know Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior this year. What Happened? She got CrossEyed and was pulled in by the Love of Jesus. Who shared this good news with her? A friend in the ministry who goes by the nickname Gigi (aka..Emily M)!! What else do we need to say? Thank you Jesus that you are alive and well and moving in the lives of our young people!!!
Here's some other cool pics from our Wednesday night Jam:

Love it babe :) I appreciated the visual of that cross, after the notes were replaced with the blossoms...Proud of you.
Welcome to blogland Trav. I'm excited to follow along, and to be more informed on how to pray for you and those jr. highers! :)

I clicked on over here from your lovely wife's blog (I have been lurking and occasionally commenting there for awhile) - you are on my reader now too! I have fond memories of Junior High gatherings like this at my church (your cross conversion is SO creative!). I am looking forward to hearing your perspective!
Visiting from your lovely wife's blog...looking forward to reading more! Awesome that you are able to love your job so much. I think it's a gift to be able to have a job we love...makes it less of a job and more fun that way and those kids are lucky to have you to inspire them. Oh, and your little red head sure is an absolute doll baby...what a blessing she is. Careful, they grow really, really fast! Mine are 11 and 6 and I can't believe how fast time goes...it's CRAZY!
I enjoy reading your wife's blog and found yours there. Junior high preaching is one of the most important things you can do in life so you have our admiration! My daughter is a junior high teacher and I've always wondered how she could choose that age group. It takes a special, patient understanding personality to do that, I think. Blessings to you and your work!!
What a very cool illustration of what Christ did on the cross for us. I know that you are such a blessing to the students in your ministry. I pray that God would continue to pour into you so that you may continue to pour into them.
Welcome to the blog-world!
So excited to see you have a blog! Have loved your wife on her blog for awhile... I am a Jr. High Ministery Youth Leader myself & love that age group... such a critical time of becoming who they are in the world! Anxious to see your thoughts on your blog!!!
And yes - how exciting is it when you see the young ones inviting others to church & to know Christ... no age limit required - just a love for Jesus!!!
Hey, I've been reading your wife's blog off and on for awhile now... it looks like you have an awesome junior high group. :) I love those cross pictures.
Peace.
Just stopping in from your wife's blog to say hello and welcome to the blogosphere.
My husband and I were involved with Young Life when our girls were in highschool and for a couple of years after until we moved from the area. Youth leaders have a special place in my heart-such a blessing in the life of a teenager and a teenager's parents : )
My girls are both in college now, both volunteer as YL leaders with highschools in their university town and their own youth leaders played a large part in encouraging that desire they have to serve.
Enjoy blogging...I love the connections I've made thru my blog.
Neat to see you have another creative outlet!
